It’s no secret that if you’re in the market for a new HDTV, whether it’s plasma, LED, LCD, or DLP, that they don’t come cheap.  HDTV’s are high ticket items but there are a few ways that, with the right knowledge, you can get some great Best Buy HDTV deals.  It’s not limited to just Best Buy, either, there are plenty of different places to use these tactics.

First and foremost, if you’re a shopaholic or simply don’t consider yourself to be the negotiating type, the Best Buy HDTV deals can almost always be scored during Black Friday.  If you aren’t familiar, this is the sale the Friday immediately following Thanksgiving every year and major chains drop their prices incredibly low.  Often, they are at or below cost.  If this is the avenue you wish to explore, be sure to get there early.  Often, there are a very limited number of TV’s up for grabs at the ridiculous sales price and recently, chains have been issuing vouchers for those in line up to two hours before the advertised time the doors open.

If you aren’t the type that enjoys shopping at the earliest hours of the morning or Thanksgiving isn’t around the corner, don’t fret.  There are plenty of ways that you can still negotiate Best Buy HDTV deals in the store.  The most powerful tool in your arsenal is to do some research before you head out for your HDTV or any other high ticket item.  If you know the make and model of the TV you hope to purchase, find the best price on the internet and print out the page.  Be sure to include shipping costs as well.  It’s better to have a few models to select from, too, so print out all of the best prices to the models you’d like to own.

Bring all of these printouts with you and get ready to score some Best Buy HDTV deals. Check out their website as well since, often, their website is cheaper than their store.  Print out the price off of Best Buy’s site and bring all of this with you to the store.  Finally, time to negotiate!  Try to go during a slow time, like a week night, and usually an hour or so before close.  Managers have a goal to meet for the day so you can help them with your purchase.  You will most likely need to speak with the manager since most associates don’t have negotiating power.  Show them your printouts and ask what the best deal is that they can give you.  If you are buying multiple things, be sure to show them your entire shopping list as they may be able to come up with a better price as well.  Have fun and, if necessary, don’t be afraid to leave and order online.
